DAY 22: Today we’re fasting from the thought that says: “I don’t like myself.”

January 22, 2010  |  Mind  |  No Comments

Thoughts on this family tree include: “I don’t like the way I act; the way I look; my life; my personality, etc.” This kind of self-derision and self-condemnation defeats us before we ever face our day. It causes poor self-worth, limited expectations, bad decisions and bad habits…

DAY 20 :Today I want to build upon a thought from our original 40 day Fast from Wrong Thinking: The thought that says, “I don’t have enough…”

January 20, 2010  |  Mind  |  No Comments

I want to remind you that our “fasting” is not about food. It’s about “abstaining” from something. In our case, we are abstaining or GIVING UP wrong ways of thinking. Fasting is very popular, but ‘fasting from wrong thinking’ is unprecedented–until now. This journey will take us to a place that dieting and abstaining from food, could never get us.

This thought is an invisible fence that keeps us in the backyard of lack and deficiency.

It says, “I don’t have enough money. I don’t have enough time. I don’t have enough friends. I don’t have enough experience. I don’t have enough education…”

DAY 19 : Today we’re fasting simply from the thought: “Some day.” “Some day” I’m going to live my dream. “Some day” I’m going to succeed. “Some day” I’m going to overcome this problem…

Time to stop dreaming and start doing…

DAY 18 : Today we’re fasting from the granddaddy of all wrong thinking: “I’m afraid.”

January 18, 2010  |  Mind  |  No Comments

Fear is at the root of just about every negative thing that happens in our lives. We’re afraid of failing, afraid of being alone, or rejected; afraid of running out of money; afraid that people will let us down; that we won’t find a spouse, or a job; and the list goes on and on. All fear is rooted in the core belief that God’s Word won’t work. For example, the fear of not having enough is rooted in the fear that Philippians 4:19 isn’t true. If you believe that “God will supply all your needs according to His riches…” then fear leaves.

Let’s fast from the thought “I’m afraid.”

DAY 16:Today we’re fasting from the thought that says: “The will of God is such a mystery.” Or, “It’s too hard to figure out.”

January 16, 2010  |  Mind  |  2 Comments

DAY 15 :Today we’re fasting from the thought that says: “It is what it is.”

January 15, 2010  |  Mind  |  No Comments

Ever heard that one? You haven’t sinned if you have said it or thought it; but it’s a mentality that needs to be eliminated. “You just have to accept IT the way IT is.” NO, NO, NO.
