Today we are fasting from the thought that says: “My life is not very special. I feel insignificant and overlooked.”
Though hard to admit, this mentality is often under the surface of our lives. It’s a mindset that hems us into a mediocre and boring existence. It undermines our confidence and willingness to take positive risks and stretch our faith.
Let’s change it TODAY:
- You have a destiny. Believe it. Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, I knew you and destined you…”
- Remember the song: “You’re just too good to be true. Can’t keep my eyes off of you…” THIS IS WHAT GOD IS SAYING ABOUT YOU!!!!! Genesis 16:13a—You are the God who sees me!
- You cannot go unnoticed! Luke 8:47 says, “Then, the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at His feet.” You are chosen by God (Colossians 3:12).

Today we’re fasting from the thought that says: “I don’t like myself.”
Thoughts on this family tree include: “I don’t like the way I act; the way I look; my life; my personality, etc.” This kind of self-derision and self-condemnation defeats us before we ever face our day. It causes poor self-worth, limited expectations, bad decisions and bad habits…
Let’s change it TODAY:
- You care for and improve what you VALUE. Let’s learn to value ourselves.
- You are valuable. The value of a thing is determined by how much someone would pay for that thing. God paid for you with the blood of Jesus—Revelation 1:5, Acts 20:28. That makes you special and costly. Believe that.
- You are amazing! Meditate on the truth that you are fearfully and WONDERFULLY made (Psalm 139:14). You were made to resemble God—Genesis 1:28.

Sorry about missing out on a few days. Just got back from the USA. Today we’re fasting from the mentality of SELF-PITY. This includes thoughts such as, “nobody cares”, “nobody notices”, “what does my life matter?”.
These thoughts bring progress and joy in our lives to a screeching halt.
Let’s change it TODAY:
- Discover J.O.Y. (Jesus, Others, Yourself). As we fill our mind with Jesus first, then others, joy will come to our lives. Matthew 6:33—seek first the kingdom of God…PUT GOD FIRST.
- Learn from Cain. Genesis 4:3-6. He put himself first, and his countenance fell. Depression and self-pity came when he gave God the leftovers rather than giving him the first of his crops. Believe this—giving and tithing is good emotional medicine!

I want to remind you that our “fasting” is not about food. It’s about “abstaining” from something. In our case, we are abstaining or GIVING UP wrong ways of thinking. Fasting is very popular, but ‘fasting from wrong thinking’ is unprecedented–until now. This journey will take us to a place that dieting and abstaining from food, could never get us.
This thought is an invisible fence that keeps us in the backyard of lack and deficiency.
It says, “I don’t have enough money. I don’t have enough time. I don’t have enough friends. I don’t have enough experience. I don’t have enough education…”
