DAY 26 : Today, we are continuing to fast from thoughts of Doubt.

January 26, 2010  |  Mind

When Jesus asked Peter, “Why did you doubt?”, He was revealing to us that it’s unnatural to doubt, and we were born to believe!

Let’s FIND OUT HOW:

1. See doubt and unbelief for what it is. It is deception. The devil is attempting to deceive us into THINKING 3 things: a.) that God’s Word won’t work; b.) that God isn’t good; and c.) that we don’t have authority over the devil.

2. True knowledge drives out doubt. True knowledge is not what you learn in college. True knowledge is what God said, and told us HE WOULD DO. Awaken to the knowledge of God’s promises, and doubt will begin to die.

3. Look at this TRUE KNOWLEDGE: There are over 1000 prophecies in the Bible—promises that God made before they happened. The chances of merely 17 of these coming to pass is ONE out of 450 billion x 1 billion x 1 trillion! YET, over 600 have already come to pass! The remaining prophecies have to do with the 2nd coming of Jesus; they, too will happen!

4. Eliminate Passivity. We must not tolerate doubt in our heart. Proverbs 4:20 says, “Watch over your heart with ALL DILIGENCE…” Refuse to accept the lie that “we all doubt.” Doubts do come, but we must drive them out.

5. Go back to the garden. (Genesis 2:15) Adam’s life was destroyed, because he didn’t drive out doubt from the garden of Eden. When we question God’s Word, we open the door to doubt, unbelief and the devil. SHUT THE DOOR. How? Fill your mind and heart with the promises of God.

6. Give up gambling! What do I mean? Believing anything OTHER than God’s Word is a gamble. Only His promises are a sure thing. 2 Corinthians 1:20—all the promises of God are YES. 1 Kings 8:56 says, “Not one Word has failed of ALL His good promise.”

THINK IT & SAY IT:
I declare that God’s Word works; that God IS good; and that I have authority over the devil. I drive out the devil from the garden of my heart by driving doubt out. I believe God cannot lie, and that every promise He makes comes to pass. I refuse to accept doubt another day in my life, in Jesus’ Name!

  1. Dear Pastor Tim, this series of fasting from wrong thinking is extremely good and practical! If you are prompted by the Spirit, maybe we may have it on pulpit on Sundays! The series is very good and speaks directly to my heart.
